Great lunch ideas for vegetarians and vegans alike

This book has a lot of great ideas for lunch. Some of the recipes are not strictly vegan, this is not a problem since there are many substitutes in the vegan world for cheddar and feta cheese. A good suggestion would be to offer some alternatives, i.e. a good substitute for parmesan is nutritional yeast extract. Another annoyance, is that even though there are separate chapters in the book, it is not found in contents. Also the baked mac and cheese recipe has vegan cottage cheese as an ingredient. This is a hard to find ingredient and also a process to make. A better suggestion would be perhaps yogurt or cashew cream. I will definitely try out these recipes. The book was given to me at a substantial discount for my honest and unbiased review.

Some good soups, salads and a mix of vegan and vegetarian recipes for some diversity

There are some recipes that I like. The broccoli soup, potato salad and a few others. For the most part a lot of it is still to new to me or I have no idea where to get some of the items. It is however a bit daunting when starting out. With also staying away from so much bread and pasta a lot of it didn't pertain to me. But overall the book had a few items I liked or ideas to modify. Everyone's tastes and likes vary so much, it is hard to base what you might like by what I have to say. For instance you would have no idea that I am a plain jane eater and I can't handle spices. Plus as it turns out this book is not primarily for vegans, but is both vegetarian and vegan. A lot of recipes are super laced with bread, egg, dairy and way to mucho beans. What gets me is too much bread and pasta so I have been attempting to stay away from all that. If you are allergic to dairy this will also limit what you can use out of the recipes. My complaint or peeve is that these recipes call for ingredients not many would have on hand. It would be nice to find a book with typical staples. Let alone have access to some, especially if a newbie. It would be super expensive to purchase items for each recipe. A good suggestion would be to offer some alternatives for many of the ingredients. If you are on a bread or pasta ban for health reasons and to eat healthier, a lot of the recipes won't help out either. Not all recipes in the book are completely vegan. The recipe is part vegan and part vegetarian. The author states that vegan isn't always dairy free. I don't agree with that statement. Being dairy free is the difference between being a vegetarian and being a vegan. Due to this, I can not justifiably give this book a five star rating. At least I can visualize each dish, included is a picture of the dish, which I like as it gives me an idea before I attempt to make it. I found a few things to interest me. I however do find that even my traditional cookbooks are great and I can just omit the meat. I already make salads with great diversity. I love quinoa and there is lots I can do with it in salads or as a side dish in place of rice. The book has some soup ideas and I liked them. I received this book free in exchange for my review.

Vegetarian cookbook, good meal options

This cookbook has some good recipes that look to to be healty and reasonably fast to make. The ebook itself is a little disorganized, with a lot of extra blank space. The recipes however each include a picture of the dish, which I like because it helps me visualize the meal before I make it.

I am not a vegan or a vegetarian, I wanted to check out this book because I'm interested I incorporating healthier meal options into my diet and I though that I vegan book could be a good way to start. I have read a couple other of the cookbooks by the same author and I think that she offers creative and flexible recipes that I have previously used to make some pretty delicious meals.

The book itself is organized clearly with a table of contents that breaks the recipes up into categories like salad, pasta, sandwiches, tempeh dishes, and dips. Each section has a decent amount of recipes that are easily modifiable to taste and preference. Many recipes include vegetarian options. If someone is a strict vegan it has an allergy than this wouldn't be the most friendly recipe book. I believe that these recipes should be easily converted to vegan, or to meat dishes for that matter. But to someone who isn't a seasoned chef (haha I'm exaggerating) or that likes to follow directions explicitly than this isn't the best cookbook. I personally always use recipes as a base to work off of, and from there I add thugs and hangs it up to my own preference. By which I mean that many of these little things didn't bother me.

The main appeal to me for this cookbook is that it's intended to offer recipes that are fast and easy to cook. I am a full time student with an internship and my schedule gets very hectic and if I'm not too careful I end up eating out and buying prepackaged meals. I think that the idea behind this book is a great one. This healthy and fast goal behind these recipes is well stated and explained in a brief introduction in the beginning of the cookbook. This adds a nice touch to the book, personalizes the readers to the author, and gets the user into a healthier mindset. Overall I think that this book contains some pretty good recipes that are very workable. It is not a vegan book, rather vegetarian with vegan options but as a nonvegan and a non vegetarian this doesn't bother me. I received this recipe book in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
