Some of the "scads of..." e-recipe are books are not great, but the ones I have bought by Julie Hatfield have been very good. My husband is from Mexico, so he knows how to make tamales and has taught me how. The advice in this book is sound. The recipes are solid and well written. Julie offers recipes for a good variety of tamales, including some you wouldn't be able to get just anywhere (e.g. at your local Mexican restaurants). If you're looking for good advice on making tamales with some good ideas for variety, buy this!

About the Author
In 2009, Melanie Zuben made a lifestyle changing decision by quitting her stressful job at a Melbourne art gallery. She had two choices left: either end up a kamikaze alcoholic on her way to self-destruction or re-invent herself and follow her dreams, come what may. One sunny morning, she had found herself suddenly FREE to paint her long overdue masterpieces and FREE to devote her time to her other passion: writing. As a Hungarian migrant, she spent her younger years (up until the late 1970’s) amongst the oppressed in Communist Hungary. These experiences gave her an opportunity to observe human behaviour in a controlled political system, admiring their beauty, whilst exposing their hypocrisies and inconsistencies. A self-confessed humanitarian, she’s deeply concerned about the future of humanity, passionate about Animal Welfare, loves Classical Music, French Poetry and interested in Hungarian History and Politics. She’s married and lives in Melbourne, Australia.

The term "African American" doesn't usually invoke images north of the 49th parallel, but it should. Not only because Canada was the longed for "Canaan Land" of so many spirituals and therefore, the ultimate home of many escaped slaves, nor because Nova Scotia and New France also had slaves, but because black communities have been a part of what we now call "Canada" since the beginning. George Elliott Clarke , an award winning poet, playwright, critic and scholar , is very much part of the literary map of Canada; this book gathers together a representative selection of his essays and reviews published over a decade and demonstrates that African-Canadian literature is not a recent phenomenon. His map covers vast and diverse territory , including the status of African-American culture as a "model for blackness," black and white racial metaphors in Quebecois literature, black women's search for history and more. This is a great introduction for newcomers, and a foundation for students in the field.

She has worked in various jobs over the years but realized one day home is where she needed to be. After a lot of deliberation and research, she decided to become a full-time writer. Being a full time at home mom and writer sounds like a lot of work and for good reason, it is. She loves every minute of the organized chaos that is her daily life. It is what fuels her ideas and inspires her to write the books she does. She loves to share what she knows and is always willing to learn something new. She loves to cook and create new recipes which you will find shared throughout her various cookbooks. She stays up to date on the most current diets but doesn’t particularly follow any one of them. She eats to enjoy while consciously watching her health. She knows people need a variety of recipes to avoid the boredom that leads to weight gain and tries to fill that void. Her passions don’t stop at cooking and she is an avid gardener, organizer and loves reading. She is known amongst the kids in the sports community as “the lady with the best chocolate chip cookies ever.” She enjoys being able to watch her children play sports and is quite active herself. In the end, you could call her a homebody. Charity is all about living life with passion and enjoying every moment. Great gluten-free recipe book.

I purchased this cookbook as part of a promotion for free electronic cookbooks here on Amazon. I love to cook, so I am always looking for great recipes and cooking tips. I am out of bookshelf space for printed books, so electronic seems to be the way to go to further supplement that collection. I try to focus on low carb/low sugar recipes, gluten-free and quick and easy recipes for slow cookers and similar appliances. This book offers a variety of recipes. I look forward to trying some of them soon. You can’t beat the price. As always Amazon is a great source for electronic books.

Grab this book if your family is going gluten free. Having the recipes will prove to be an invaluable key to that process.

Wonderful GF recipes!

I've recently gone gluten free for the second time in three years. This cookbook has so many great recipes I can hardly wait to try. I just sent my daughter the info on it because she and her family are also GF. It is so much easier now than it was three years ago because there are a lot more GF baking mixes and many more good GF cookbooks. I come from a long line of good cooks and love cooking most of our meals from scratch. Baking has been a real challenge, because we live at a high altitude, but my husband is an excellent baker and has had some major successes now. I've now been completely GF for a month and feel so much better. I will now check on this author's other GF cookbooks.

Anna, unknowingly, is about to embark on a journey that will shine a light on many of the key turning points in not only her past, but possibly all things past. She will not be making this journey alone. Assistance will come in the form of her very own daughter, Etta, who turns up soon after her future self makes her first appearance. Unfortunately, Etta only manages to add to the confusion. Anna Katz has never had a child. While standing face to face with herself appears at first to be akin to standing in front of a long mirror; she’s about to learn more about herself than she bargained for. Is it possible that inside her own psyche are hidden many different people just waiting to get out? In the end, when she gazes into the looking glass, will it be her own reflection staring back; or something less recognizable? Possibly even terrifying. In this novel are offered alternative theories of time travel, causality, random facts about the global positioning system, postulations of a repeating universal timeline, inferences that bathroom habits may have an adverse effect on the attainable speed of light, and the possibility that the demise of the Theropods might not have been without blame. Although, to find the last one you will have to read between the lines with a microscope. Also included, but much more subjectively, are judgmental opinions on infidelity, workplace etiquette, smoking, taking things that don’t belong to you, parenting do’s and don’ts , and last but not remotely least, the possibility of true love. Any similarities to real persons or events is unintentional, however given this novels propensity for timeline revision, it’s not completely out of the question. Enjoy!

About the Author
Award Winning Author C. F. Waller published his first science fiction novel at age forty-seven, after a flight on an ill-fated commercial airliner over the Atlantic Ocean, that nearly became an episode of Why Planes Crash. This experiance illistrated for him first hand that writing about exotic or dangerous locales was safer than traveling to them. Since then, he likes to think his meticulous research and storytelling gives readers a clear sense of their grandeur, without the inherent risk of flying. After narrowly escaping the academic death-grip of several universities, Charles worked in nightclubs, took a turn as a new car salesman, and also as a hurricane shutter engineer. His favorite authors include, Oscar Wilde, Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., and Michael Crichton. The later being especially close to his heart as Crichton epitomizes the tecno-thriller genere and and the failure of humans to interact with technology. Though he will forever be a Midwestern boy at heart, he now lives on the gulf coast of Florida with his wife, Tina, and one fuzzy feline companion. If he’s not working on a new novel, you can find him volunteering at church, playing overly competitive Yahtzee with his spouse, or indulging in an unhealthy addiction to competitive cooking shows on television.

Time Travel Thrills

This is a great story and deserves five stars just for Waller's imagination alone! As with his previous book, however, a good editor is needed with the text. In spite of this, I loved Anna right off the bat, and the author does a great job at building her into a very likable character! Anna finds herself faced with some serious decisions when her life has become ho-hum and she is least expecting it. There is a lot of action that involves "time travel" which I found intriguing. When I read Sci-fi, I like to be "transported" and this book delivers. I definitely recommend it.

A Good Read!

I wasn't sure if I would like this book, but after I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. Sci-fi and time travel worked good together in this novel. Great job to the author on this one. I would recommend to anyone who likes sci-fi books or evening time traveling.

Far forward isn't as far-reaching as one might think...

What a riveting opening that sets the pace for the rest of this action-packed sci-fi thriller! Anna is a ruthless, intelligent, and witty character, and she effectively draws us into her life of chaos. While the concept of time travel isn’t new, the storyline offers a fresh outtake for what it would be like, backed with a plausible explanation of how an Accelerator and Far Forward could possibly work. And Etta’s Hybrid nature is even more perplexingly interesting as the story progresses. With sufficient pacing to engage readers coupled with a delightful cast, Far Forward is a mental exercise, a riveting tale that will keep readers turning pages as it leaves the door open for an equally entertaining sequel.
